Eyewear Services
Overview
We provide ongoing support including adjustments, repairs, and follow-up care for glasses purchased through our office.
What to expect during your visit
Your appointment begins with a conversation. We review your health history, any medications you take, and what brought you in, whether that is a routine checkup or a specific concern. From there, Dr. Hicks performs a series of tests tailored to your age, health, and symptoms.
We check how sharply you see at various distances, how your eyes work together, and how well they respond to light and changes in focus. We also examine the front and back of your eyes using instruments that give a magnified view of the cornea, lens, retina, and optic nerve.
If dilation is needed, we explain what to expect and how long the effects will last before we begin. Nothing in your exam should come as a surprise.

Prescription Eyeglasses
Choosing glasses involves more than picking frames off a wall. Your prescription, face shape, lifestyle, and personal preferences all factor in. Our optical team works with you to find frames that fit comfortably, look good, and hold up to daily use.
We carry a range of frames at various price points, from everyday options to designer styles for patients who treat their glasses as a personal statement. Whatever your budget, our priority is making sure your lenses are accurate, your frames fit properly, and you are happy with the result.
Lens options include single vision, bifocal, and progressive designs, as well as coatings for glare reduction, blue light filtering, and scratch resistance. We explain the differences in plain terms so you can make an informed choice without feeling pressured.
Fittings, Adjustments, and Follow-Up
Good eyewear service does not end at the point of sale. We provide adjustments and minor repairs for glasses purchased through our office and we schedule follow-up visits for contact lens wearers to confirm the fit is working well. If something is not right with your glasses or contacts, we want to know about it. Comfort matters, and small adjustments can make a significant difference in how well your eyewear works for you.
Contact Lenses
Contact lens options are available for astigmatism, presbyopia (multifocals/bi-focals, monovision), cosmetic considerations (including colors), sports, or other special needs. Fitting and training are available in a variety of contact lens options including monthly, bi-monthly, daily disposable, custom lenses, and rigid gas permeable lenses.
Please bring in any boxes or any packaging, or previous prescriptions and we will investigate them for you.
Our approach to your care
We are a small, close-knit team, and that is by design. When you visit Mountain View Eye Care, you see the same doctor and the same staff who already know you and your history. We do not rush through appointments or hand you off between departments.
Dr. Hicks explains findings in plain language and answers every question. If you need corrective lenses, we walk through your options honestly. If we identify a condition that calls for further treatment, we outline the next steps clearly and connect you with the right specialists when needed. We are independent in our referrals, which means we recommend based on what is best for you.
Our goal is for you to leave every visit feeling informed, cared for, and confident about your eye health.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a separate exam for contact lenses?
Yes. A contact lens exam includes additional measurements and evaluations that are not part of a standard glasses prescription. The fit, curvature, and material of the lens all need to be matched to your eyes specifically.
How long does it take to get new glasses?
Most orders arrive within 7 – 10 business days.
Can you help me choose frames that look good on my face?
Absolutely. Our optical team has experience helping patients of all ages find frames that suit their face shape, skin tone, and personal style. We are happy to offer honest guidance and let you take your time deciding.
Do you carry glasses for children?
Yes. We carry durable, age-appropriate frames for children and teens. Our team understands that kids are harder on their glasses, and we help families find options that balance durability, comfort, and style.
